Project Engineer (Systems)

Full/Part Time: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £34k to £40k

Hours: 40 hours - flexitime. Monday to Friday, sometimes weekend working and overnight stays needed.

Responsibilities:

We are currently involved with lots of interesting projects and have an opportunity that would suit a project engineer looking for something exciting to get their teeth into. You would be designing, installing and maintaining telemetry systems as part of our small team of engineers. In particular we are looking for somebody with a background in Military, Air Traffic Management or similar.  Would suit ex-forces candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
  • Liaise directly with our other engineers to ensure all design issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies (ISO 9001 & ISO 14001), performance standards and specifications.
  • Design, implement and test SCADA and Telemetry configurations.
  • Interact daily with the clients' representatives to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
  • Liaise with our Production department to ensure all deliverables are on time and on budget.
  • Plan and participate in Systems I&C, and record site activities.
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and report regularly on project status to the Project Manager.
  • Create and Collate engineering information into accurate and complete project package to ensure personnel have the correct information during all stages of the project life cycle.

 

Requirements:

You will be based in our offices in Desborough. There will be regular visits to our customers/sites around the UK and some international travel is also likely from time to time.

 

We are looking for adaptable candidates with a can-do attitude and eagerness to learn. We encourage our team to adopt problems, and to evolve. Good opportunities to progress.

 

Suitable Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum HNC (Engineering related subject) or equivalent (Degree preferred).
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and Project.
  • Interfacing with Customers on site and solving technical issues.
  • IT skills essential.
  • Working with hand-tools and power tools.
  • Valid full clean Driving Licence.
